The Brits call them Chips, the Americans call them Fries, and here in Holland they call them Patat. Traditionally eaten with mayonnaise, sate sauce, ketchup, or sambal, they are something of a culinary institution. Here at Sonny they are prepared directly from the potato as opposed to being poured frozen from a sack into the frier. Undoubtably some of the best patat in town. The falafels are of the same high quality, with a choice of whole grain or plain pita bread, and the salad bar is well stocked with fresh vegetarian delights. The front terrace is a great place to sit in the sun, enjoy your food, and watch the hustle and bustle of the nearby Albert Cuyp Market. Excellent value food if you're on a budget, and extremely tasty even if you're not.
